'AUDITION READY' ONLINE WORKSHOPS 2020
ARE YOU AUDITIONING FOR A MUSICAL THEATRE COURSE THIS YEAR?
ARE YOU WORRIED ABOUT THE PROSPECT OF SELF-TAPING YOUR FIRST ROUND?
NEED SOME GUIDANCE TO KNOW THAT YOU ARE ON THE RIGHT TRACK FROM PROFESSIONAL PERFORMERS?
THEN WELCOME TO ADC'S DRAMA SCHOOL AUDITION SELF-TAPE BOOT CAMP!
This year due to COVID-19 most Dance and Drama School auditions will involve an online section of your audition, with most having to self-tape their first round. Even for the most tech-savvy among us this can seem daunting, particularly if you haven't had regular access to your normal teachers since March. This is why ADC have set up this Drama School Audition Workshop via Zoom so that you can feel confident to submit your tapes come the deadline and put yourselves in the best light to be accepted into your dream schools.
The class schedule can be found below and will include a dance class, an acting workshop and a singing workshop both days. Each acting and singing session will look to enhance your chosen pieces with 1-2-1 workshopping and constructive feedback so that you know what to work on before your submission deadline. We will also look at the skills needed for self-taping and how to adapt your pieces to the camera with regular self-tape challenges, in and outside of class, and teacher and peer feedback.
The dance classes will be split into two groups based on your level and ability and will cover technique exercises similar to those that you will need to film for the audition as well as a Musical Theatre routine. These routines have been choreographed specially to provide you with a routine to film for your auditions if this is a requirement by your chosen schools. Both days will focus on a different style of dance so that you can pick the style that suits you best as well as getting used to learning routines and performing them in audition situations.
These classes will be run by The ADC Directing team who have been helping students achieve places at their dream schools for nearly 10 years. They are all professional performers with extensive performing and teaching experience. If you would like more information on the team please click here!
